We study the first cohomology space of Chevalley-Eilenberg of Lie algebras attached to a non-regular involutive distribution of a differentiable manifold. We apply the results obtained to Lie algebras of vector fields with compact support and to Lie algebras related to a generalized foliation leading to a generalization of a theorem of Kanie and certain results of Lichnerowicz.
